Story
Helloween is a German power metal band from Hamburg founded in 1984 by members of Iron Fist, Gentry, and Powerfool. Considered the pioneer band of power metal in its most widespread definition today (melodic speed metal), its initial lineup consists of guitarist Michael Weikath, bassist Markus Grosskopf, vocalist and guitarist Kai Hansen, and drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg. After the release of an eponymous EP and a first album in 1985, the band became a quintet with the arrival of singer Michael Kiske, with Hansen taking on the unique role of guitarist. The albums Keeper of the Seven Keys Part I and Part II were released, laying the foundations for power metal. Praised by the specialized press, they allow Helloween to become a notable heavy metal band.
The band's symbol is a pumpkin that appears in the logo in place of the O in the band's name on every album except the Pink Bubbles go ape album, where the pumpkin is replaced by a bubble.
Since its inception, Helloween has released sixteen studio albums, three live albums, three EPs, and twelve singles, and has sold over eight million copies worldwide.
