Annie Lennox, whose real name is Ann Lennox, born December 25, 1954 in Aberdeen (Scotland), is a Scottish singer-songwriter.
Her musical career began with Dave Stewart and Peet Coombes in 1975 in the group The Catch, which became The Tourists in 1977. After three albums and the breakup of the group, Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox continued to collaborate and formed the duo Eurythmics, which gained worldwide recognition in 1983 with the single Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This). During the 1980s, with eight studio albums and hit singles such as Here Comes the Rain Again, Sexcrime, The Miracle of Love and There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My Heart), Eurythmics became one of the leading British pop bands of the decade. In 1990, at the Brit Awards ceremony, Annie Lennox officially announced the separation of the group and decided to retire temporarily to devote herself to her family.
