Michael Amott is a British and Swedish death metal guitarist.
He was born on July 28, 1970 in London and currently lives in Sweden.
His musical career began in 1988 with the band Carnage. After the split of the band 3 years later, he joined the British band Carcass and started his own project Spiritual Beggars after leaving Carcass, before forming Arch Enemy with his brother Christopher Amott. He also recorded the guitars for Candlemass on their album Dactylis Glometera.
Today he plays on Dean guitars that have a shape that exists only in his signature collection the "Tyrant" model like the Tyrant, the Tyrant X, the Tyrant bloodstorm or his latest signature (2011 model) the Tyrant X splatter.
